Welcome to Get Real!, a new segment where we take to campus to hear directly from students about their experiences, opinions and concerns. This time, ICE News took to the halls to ask students a very important question: Do you feel supported on campus?
The answer? A resounding yes! From academic and mental health resources to campus communities, students shared their experiences on campus support– and where they find it.
Campus clubs are a great way to find support and like-minded people. There are more than 30 active clubs at Manchester! To find one that interests you visit https://ctstate.edu/locations/manchester.
Other resources include the Fitness Center, located in the Student Services Center building, which is open to all students for free on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For help with classes visit the Academic Support Center, located in room L-282 in the SSC for help with math, writing, psychology and more. The center is open to all students Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more info click here.
Another area mentioned by the students we talked to is the Wellness Center in the SSC, L-186 (located inside L-187), where students can go to relax, hang out with each other and receive support from counselors.
Hungry? The Cougar Pantry is an area for students to go to receive food, clothes and information about off-campus resources for free. It’s located in room L-149 in the SSC. For more information, click here.
