The Art Club
The Art Club

Have you been wanting to join a creative club with relatable people? The Art Club is definitely for you then and you don’t have to be a perfect artist. This club invites artists of all skill levels, including stick-figure drawers. The club us a way for people from different backgrounds and cultures and skill levels to come together and create.

The Art Club meets on Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. in room AST B110, on the first floor of the AST tower. For more information contact president Jeffrey Katz at [email protected]. The Basketball Club
The Basketball Club

The Basketball Club has been at CT State Manchester since Fall 2022, said President Saul Lopez. Saul said he wanted to change how basketball is viewed, at least at the college. In most leagues, you must be a certain height to play, or have a team background and men and women generally play separately. Saul said he wants everyone to feel welcome.

Games are played in the gym on the first floor of the Great Path Academy building. It can be reached through the lobby of the Student Services Center building, down the hall from the Registrar window. Students can show up during regular playing time Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 -6 p.m. Just sign in and you can play, in a game or just shooting hoops or just watching and hanging out everyone is invited.

The club also holds a formal club meeting on the first Friday of every month in LRC A142, which is the classroom near the library, from 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. If you would like to get into contact with Saul, you can email him at [email protected]. Saul also works at the fitness center, so he is usually at the desk in front. You can also contact club advisor Leo Jones at [email protected].

The Drama Club
The Drama Club

Pres. Taylor Delorge leads the Drama Club. Taylor has always been interested in theater and so when she came to Manchester she decided to look for other drama nerds. From acting to behind the scenes work, Drama Club is meant to be a fun comfortable club for people to get creative and share their talents. Plans for this semester include putting on a performance or showcase to show off the talent of the members.

Meetings are Thursdays from 2 - 4 p.m., in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium on the first floor of the AST Tower building. For more information email Taylor Delorge at [email protected]. You also can email club advisor Joe Kapinos at [email protected].

The Gaming Club
The Gaming Club

Sean Barrett is the president of the Gaming Club. Sean’s inspiration for the club was an Esports club at his high school. He described the Gaming Club as "a relaxed and friendly environment for students to come in and get to meet some new people and just decompress from any extra stress in their life and just relax and play some of your favorite games for a bit." Members just play games in small groups, from Uno or Mario Kart. You can also bring your own game into the group. This is a more social club: you just show up and have fun.

The club meets every Friday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. in the Cougar Cave area.

The Step Club

The Step Club is new as of Spring 2024.

Stepping is a percussive, highly-energetic art form first developed through the song and dance rituals performed by African-American fraternities and sororities. In stepping, the body becomes an instrument, using footsteps, claps and spoken word to produce complex poly-rhythms.

The club meets Mondays from 4-5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2-3:30 p.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium on the first floor of the Tower building. No prior experience is needed to join!
