The Basketball Club

The Basketball Club has been at CT State Manchester since Fall 2022, said President Saul Lopez. Saul said he wanted to change how basketball is viewed, at least at the college. In most leagues, you must be a certain height to play, or have a team background and men and women generally play separately. Saul said he wants everyone to feel welcome.

Games are played in the gym on the first floor of the Great Path Academy building. It can be reached through the lobby of the Student Services Center building, down the hall from the Registrar window. Students can show up during regular playing time Tuesdays from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 -6 p.m. Just sign in and you can play, in a game or just shooting hoops or just watching and hanging out everyone is invited.

The club also holds a formal club meeting on the first Friday of every month in LRC A142, which is the classroom near the library, from 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. If you would like to get into contact with Saul, you can email him at [email protected].
