CT State Manchester got a taste of Wicked, May 1, when actor, singer and dancer Marie Eife came to campus to talk about the Broadway show, work with several of the music students on voice performances and answer questions about the life of a working performer.

Eife worked in the ensemble of the traveling company of the show and was also an understudy for Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. She is now pursuing her next musical theater role and also directing her own projects.

The Manchester students Eife worked with were Phoenix Sheerin, Lillian LaCaprucia-Hull, Finn Lambert, Benjamin Race and Victoria DiMartino. Eife then taught audience members a dance movement from the show and sang “The Wizard and I” from the musical. The masterclass ended with Eife answering audience questions.

The event was sponsored by the Cultural Programs Committee and the Manchester Community College Foundation.
