Get ready to sample more than 65 new food items at The Big E, New England’s biggest fair, which kicks off on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds in West Springfield, Mass.

One new dish garnering a lot of attention is “Thanksgiving nachos”: a basket of hand-cut waffle chips topped by familiar Thanksgiving flavors, including turkey, stuffing and cranberry salsa.

If you’re hungry for a savory and sweet combo at The Big E this year, check out the Ferrindino maple bacon hot dog – a mini hot dog topped with bits of bacon, cooked and glazed in maple syrup from Ferrindino Maple in Hampden, Mass.

Desserts will be plentiful as usual. Cannoli donuts are among the highlights for lovers of sweet treats, and the perennial favorite: The Big E cream puff, truly, a sandwich-sized cream puff as large as your face. This will star a new flavor for 2023: maple cream.

Additional new food items include a Mexican street corn pizza, sweet potato sushi, a Doritos gyro, and a pickled donut.
